If you are an architect, engineer, drafter, artist, or designer and use an AutoCAD download to create precision drawings or technical illustrations, you can do the same with progeCAD, plus more. progecad smart 2009 is a limited version of progecad. The tutorials for both these packages are very throughout and you will learn a lot by working through them. it is free for private, noncommercial use only. You need to register the software to continue using it after 30 days. They will start you out at a basic level and then add more and more complexity to the designs. However budget a fair amount of time for this learning process. It took me about 2 weeks with Inventor to get to the point where I felt I could do something useful with it. Its good to see a student heading into a technical area, if you have addition questions, let 'em rip.
Around here none of the kids seem to want anything to do with technically oriented jobs and that's scaring the hell out of me.
